3.1.5.3. Authentication
User can be authenticated based on:
Login mode (login)
Access to Privileged EXEC mode (enable)
Switch access method (dot1x)
Each of the authentication types above takes a different set of the valid
authentication methods summarized in the following table.

The switch has an internal 802.1X authentication server (ias) feature that enables
to separately create, maintain, and authenticate users for network (802.1X) access.
3.1.5.4. Password Management
The following configuration is available for the password management settings.
The minimum length required for user passwords can be defined. -
History of previous passwords can be kept to prevent similar password reuses. -
Password expiration timing can be defined to prompt user to change password. -
Lock out count can be define. If a user fails to enter the correct password within -
the count, that user is locked out from further remote switch access. The user
lockout feature is disabled by default.
