11.1.2 Wireless Signal Strength Test
Go to SUIF -> Diagnostics -> Wireless Detector -> Signal Strength. Click the “Start” to test the
wireless communication quality.
If there is no bucky on the wall stand, just test the wireless signal with detector in the table
bucky. Or else, just test the wireless signal with detector in the wall stand. Read the wireless
signal after the AP is installed 30 seconds later to get the latest value.
Two wireless communication criteria are required for our system:
- Bandwidth >=15, and signal strength >= -75dbm
After the AP is placed at a location, wireless signal quality need be checked.
If “Signal strength” <= Middle, relocate the detector:
- a) Be sure no object is blocking detector’s antenna.
- b) Be sure the distance of detector and hardware AP is <= 4m.
If “Signal strength” is Good, but “Bandwidth” <= Bad.
- a) Change the working channel of hardware AP.
