Maintenance and troubleshooting
Fixed power module failure
The S5560X-34S-EI and S5560X-54S-EI switches use fixed power modules and support AC power
input, RPS power input, and concurrent AC and RPS DC inputs.
To identify a fixed power module failure, examine the system status LED and the RPS status LED of
the switch.
Table 9 Description of LEDs for fixed power modules
LED Mark Status Description
System status LED SYS Off The switch is powered off.
RPS status LED RPS
Steady green The RPS has normal AC input and DC output.
Steady yellow The RPS has no or abnormal AC input.
Off The RPS has no DC output.
AC input
If the system status LED is off when the switch uses AC power input, an AC input failure might have
occurred.
To resolve the problem:
1. Verify that the AC power cord connects the switch to an AC power source correctly, and the AC
power receptacle on the switch and the AC power outlet are in good condition.
2. Verify that the AC power source is operating correctly.
3. Verify that the ambient temperature of the switch is in the acceptable range and ensure good
ventilation for the power module. Overtemperature can cause the power module to stop
working and enter the protection state.
4. If the problem persists, contact H3C Support.
RPS DC input
If the system status LED or RPS status LED is off when the switch uses RPS power input, an RPS
input failure might have occurred.
To resolve the problem:
1. Verify that the switch is connected correctly to the RPS.
2. Verify that the RPS is operating correctly.
3. Verify that the ambient temperature of the switch is in the acceptable range and ensure good
ventilation for the power module. Overtemperature can cause the power module to stop
working and enter the protection state.
4. If the problem persists, contact H3C Support.
Concurrent RPS and AC inputs
If the system status LED is off when the switch uses concurrent RPS and AC inputs, both the
AC power module and the RPS might have an input failure.
To resolve the problem:
a. Verify that the AC power cord connects the switch to the power source correctly, and the
AC-input power receptacle on the switch and the AC power outlet are in good condition.
b. Verify that the AC power source is operating correctly.
