Defrost Mode is initiated, the Primary Compressor should be running with 2 cylinders. If the ambient temperature increases or
decreases and a BIN change occurs, the defrost initiation is based on the limits of the new BIN.
OPERATION EMERGENCY HEAT MODE
In Emergency Heat Mode, the  Mode LED is lit and the thermostat energizes or de-energizes the
EH input to regulate the indoor temperature. Regardless of the state of other inputs, if at any moment the EH input is powered
for 1 second or more, the W1Out output is energized and all the other outputs are de-energized.
o If the Controller is set for (P0), the W1Out activates the 1st bank of electric heat in the indoor air handler. If the Emergency
Heat signal is not sent for 1 second or more, the Controller shall return to the normal heat mode operation.
(NOTE) Optionally, the 2
nd
Stage Emergency Heat, W2 signal, can be connected to the W2 input on the indoor air handler control
board, energizing the 2
nd
bank of electric heat in the indoor air handler. Normally, this W2 connection is left disconnected, as
setting the thermostat into Emergency Heat mode will energize all of the electric heat elements. See Appendix B., Figure 12.
o If the Controller is set for (P1), the W1Out activates the gas burner in the furnace. If the Emergency Heat signal is not sent
for 1 second or more, the Controller shall return to the normal heat mode operation.
(NOTE) The furnace shall only receive one signal for heat from the Acadia Controller as the W1Out. The W2 from the thermostat
should not be connected to the furnace.
