Control Panels for X75 Systems Installation and Operation Manual 5
Chapter 1: Introduction and Installation
Installing the Control Panels
Frame-Mounted Local Control Panel
The X75HD/X75SD frame-mounted local control panels are shipped as
part of the frame. See the X75HD/X75SD Multiple Path Converters and
Frame Synchronizers Installation and Operation Manual for details
about the frame’s installation.
Retrofit Local Control Panel
The X75OPT-LCP field retrofit kit makes it possible to remove a blank
front module from an X75 unit, and replace it with a local control panel.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the control panel, you must unplug the X75
before beginning the installation.
The new control panel in the retrofit kit includes a fan module. (You
will not need to retain the fan module from the blank front panel.) To
remove a blank front panel and replace it with a local control panel
retrofit, follow these steps:
1. Remove all power from the control panels for X75 systems unit.
2. Remove the mounting ear screws that secure the control panels for
X75 systems to the rack, and then slide the unit forward.
3. Remove the seven screws along the top of the blank front panel that
hold the panel to the frame.
Retain the screws.
4. Remove the seven screws along the bottom of the blank front panel
that hold the panel to the frame (do not remove the line of four
screws that secure the fan module). See Figure 1-3 on page 6.
