Disconnect the (-)ve terminal lead (3) from
the battery first, then disconnect the (+)ve
terminal lead (4).
Battery removal
Make sure the ignition switch is “OFF” ( ).
Remove the seat (page 33).
Remove the left side cover screws (1) and
remove the side cover (2).
Battery charging
Remove the battery holding belt (5).
Ÿ Ensure the battery leads are properly
connected to the battery terminals during
installation.
If in case your vehicle is not used for more
than a month remove the battery, fully
charge and store in a cool and dry place.
Always visit your Authorised Hero MotoCorp
workshop if you see any symptom of battery
discharge as earliest as possible to get the
battery charged. The battery has a tendency to
discharge rapidly if additional electrical
accessories are fitted on the vehicle.
Battery storage
Ÿ If the battery is expected to be stored for
more than two months, ensure to fully
charge the battery once in a month.
Ÿ Always ensure the battery is fully charged
before installation.

Location
The battery is located behind the left
side cover.
Specification
*MF Battery-12V-6Ah/ETZ-7
It is not necessary to check the battery
electrolyte level or add distilled water as the
battery is a Maintenance-Free (sealed)
type. If your battery seems weak and/or
electrolyte is leaking (causing hard starting or
other electrical troubles), contact your
Authorised Hero MotoCorp workshop.
NOTE
This symbol on the battery means that
this product must not be treated as
household waste.
This symbol on the battery means the
old battery must be returned to your
Authorised Hero MotoCorp workshop
as it must be treated as recyclable
material.
An improperly disposed battery can be
harmful to the environment and human
health. Always confirm local regulations for
battery disposal.
Battery is a maintenance-free (sealed) type
and can be permanently damaged if the
sealing strip is removed.
