Oil circulation inspection
• To drain the oil, remove the oil level
dipstick, drain bolt (1) and sealing washer
(2).
Ÿ Reinstall the oil level dipstick with new
O-ring and check for oil leaks.
• Start the engine, warm it up for several
minutes and then turn it off.
Engine oil replacement/
• Wait a few minute until the oil settles down.
• Start the engine and allow it to idle for few
minutes.
• Recheck the oil level.
• Make sure that oil level is at the “UPPER”
level mark of the oil level dipstick with the
vehicle in an upright position and that there
are no oil leaks.
• Stop the engine and let the engine oil settle
down.

• After the oil has completely drained,
reinstall the drain bolt (1) with a new
sealing washer (2).
• Fill the crankcase through the oil filler
hole with 1170 ml (approximately) of
recommended grade oil during oil change
when right crankcase cover is not removed.
• Reinstall the oil level dipstick with a new
O-ring.
CAUTION
!!
•
Running the engine with excessive oil can
cause spark plug fouling & loss in
performance.
•
Running the engine with insufficient oil can
cause serious engine damage.
•
Engine oil is a major factor affecting the
performance and service life of the engine.
Non-detergent, vegetable or castor based
racing oils are not recommended.
• Remove the kick starter pedal (4).
• Remove the side faring (1) exhaust muffler ,
(2) and under cowl (3).
• Drain the engine oil thoroughly (page 47).

FILTER CLEANING
• Remove the oil cooler hoses with O-ring
(7) by removing its bolts (8) and right
crankcase cover (9).
• Disconnect the clutch cable (5), remove the
kick stopper (6).
