Section 4 - Operating the Rockpicker
5. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the
tractor.
6. Place a chain around the front top bat
and around the front bar of the
rockpicker. Tighten to prevent the reel
from turning when the spring pressure of
the lodged bat is released.
Note: Both
free bats must be chained.
The pickup reel may rotate in
either direction once the spring
pressure of the lodged bat is
released.
7. Place a chain around the rear top bat and
through the grill of the rock bucket.
- Tighten to prevent the reel from
turning when the spring pressure of
the lodged bat is released.
Work on the lodged bat from the
front of the apron (away from the
direction of the bat rotation). This
work position is to prevent the
spring pressure on the bat from
throwing the lodged rock that will
cause injury or moving the bat
swiftly and causing serious injury.
