4. Insert the cover plate bolt (4) and nut. (Do
not fully tighten at this time.)
5. Lubricate the threads of the spring
tension bolt (5).
6. Fully tighten the spring tension bolt (5) to
place tension onto the springs.
7. Tighten the tension bolt jamnut (6).
8. Tighten the cover plate bolt (4).
9. Install the bolt (7) to prevent the tension
bolt from moving up. Tighten just until
snug.
10. After the spring is tensioned, fill the
tube around the threads with grease
through the flush grease zerk (8).
- Use a flush type grease coupler
(or a needle nozzle) to fill the tube
with grease.
- Fill until the grease comes out
near the locking nut (6) or no more
grease can be injected through the
zerk.
