EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
If your system goes into alarm, the following sections describe the procedures you
should follow and what the Customer Service Center does.
Customer Service Center
If you have a monitored system and the burglar alarm portion of your system is
triggered, the Honeywell Customer Service Center receives a signal and will take
action based on instructions you pre-determined at the time of installation. Typically,
we will call you first to see if you unintentionally tripped the alarm. Next, we will
dispatch the police if we are unable to determine that the alarm was unintentional.
Then we notify the first available person on your Call List. We do not call you first if the
alarm is for Fire or if you have pressed the POLICE button.
If you do not have a monitored system, an alarm sounds in your home and a siren or
bell sounds outside (when installed), but no signal is sent to the Customer Service
Center.
NOTE: The emergency procedures described in the following sections are for
systems monitored at a Honeywell Customer Service Center. If your system
is not monitored, there will be no emergency assistance dispatched.
The only indication of an alarm will be the display on the keypads and an
audible sound for those types of alarms that have been set up to sound an
audible alarm. Alarms that have not been set up to be audible will only
provide an indication on the keypads.
Alarms
What To Do in the Event of Alarms
False Alarm If you accidentally trigger the burglar alarm portion of your
system, enter your passcode immediately and call the
Honeywell Customer Service Center as soon as normal
telephone transmission is restored. Tell them what happened
and provide your passcard number or code word.
Burglar Alarm When You Are at Home
Should your burglar alarm sound while you are in your
home, be alert to possible intrucers. Act safely and try not to
confront the intruder. Generally the Honeywell Customer
Service Center will call the home before dispatching the
police to see if you have accidentally caused a false alarm. If
an intruder is present, do not answer the phone unless you
are forced to do so.
