Clearing memory
You can selectively clear information stored in your machine's memory.
1. PressMenu repeatedly until MEMORYCLEAR appears, and press Start/Enlero
The display shows the type of information you can clear from memory_
2_ Select what you want to delete by pressing 4 i_ and press Start/Enter_
3. Select Y and press Start/Enter when the machine asks if you are sure°
The types of information you can clear are:

Loudspeaker--HP !040 Fax
You do not need to pick up the handset to make a phone call When dialing, just press
the Loudspeakerbutton and enter the numbers. When your party answers, pick up the
handset to talk to themoThis feature is especially useful for checking voicemail messages_
NOTE: Your HP t040 Fax does not have speakerphone capabilitieso The loudspeaker
enables you to hear calls but you must speak using the handset.
TIP: If you want to share the conversation with somebody beside you, pick up the
handset and press Loudspeaker. The line is still connected and everybody can listen to
the conversation.
While you are using Loudspeaker, do not place the handset beside the speaker, as this
may result in howling_
Speakerphone--HP 1050 Fax
The HP 1050 Fax has fuli speakerphone capabilities._ PressSpeakerphone to make and
receive calls as well as listening to your answering machine messages_
While you are using Speakerphone, do not place the handset beside the speaker, as
this may result in howling.
