Setting up an IRF fabric
You can use HP IRF technology to connect and virtualize 5800 and 5820X switches into a large virtual
switch called an "IRF fabric" for flattened network topology, and high availability, scalability, and
manageability.
NOTE:
You can set up a heterogeneous IRF fabric that has both 5800 and 5820X switches or a homo
g
eneous IRF
fabric that has only 5800 or 5820X switches.
