Appendix C Slot arrangement
The HP 830 24-port PoE+ unified wired-WLAN switch provides slots for uplink modules. On the switch,
all fixed ports are located in slot 0.

The switch provides 30 fixed ports numbered GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 through GigabitEthernet 1/0/30,
among which:
• GigabitEthernet 1/0/1 through GigabitEthernet 1/0/24 are 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet ports,
with the last part of the port numbers indicated on the front panel.
• GigabitEthernet 1/0/25 through GigabitEthernet 1/0/28 are 1000Base-X SFP fiber ports, with
the last part of the port numbers indicated on the front panel.
• GigabitEthernet 1/0/29 and GigabitEthernet 1/0/30 are internal ports for connecting the
controller engine.
The switch provides two 10 GE interface module slots. The ports on the interface modules installed in
these slots are numbered TenGigabitEthernet 1/1/1 and TenGigabitEthernet 1/2/1.
