Using Single Sweep to Measure and View All Four S-Parameters
Using Single Sweep to Measure and
View All Four S-Parameters
You can save sweep time when measuring S-parameters on an
HP 8712ES or HP 8714ES by using the single sweep feature. As long as
a full two-port calibration has been performed, you can measure all four
S-parameters with a single sweep cycle, and then individually view each
S-parameter by then pressing the desired S-parameter softkey under the
or menu.
From the front panel, set up your measurement parameters, perform (or
recall) a valid full two-port calibration, and then connect the DUT. Press
. The analyzer takes a forward and reverse
sweep to capture all four S-parameters, and then goes into “hold sweep”
mode. Press or , and then any of the S-parameter
measurement keys to view the desired parameter.
The SCPI command to perform a single sweep and then hold is
ABOR;:INIT[1|2]:CONT OFF;:INIT[1|2]; *WAI
