Before removing the bottom cover, prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for
disassembly on page 40).
Remove the bottom cover:
1. Position the computer upside down with the front toward you.
2. Slide the screw cover (1) to the left, and then rotate the screw cover clockwise (2) until the screw is
accessible.
3. Loosen the five Torx5 captive screws (3) that secure the bottom cover to the computer.
4. Use a nonmarking, nonconductive tool (1) to separate the rear edge of the bottom cover (2) from the
computer.
