Before removing the solid-state drive, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 40).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 40).
Remove the solid-state drive:
1. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
2. Remove the two Phillips M2.0 × 3.2 screw (1) that secures the solid-state drive and solid-state drive
shield to the system board.
3. Lift and remove the solid-state drive shield (2).
The solid-state drive shield is included in the Shield Kit, spare part number N10942-001.
