6.1 Installing a Power Module
Context
The methods for installing different types of power modules in a switch are the same. All the
power modules are hot swappable (except the 870 W PoE power module). For the S2700,
S3700, S5700, and S6700 switch models that support pluggable power modules, see the
Hardware Description.
NOTICE
If you feel resistance or find the power module inclined during the installation, pull the power
module out and push it into the slot again. Do not force the power module into the slot as
doing this may damage power module or the connectors on the backplane.
NOTICE
If only one power module is installed, install a filler panel in the unused slot.
