Possible Causes
l The power switch is off.
l The power cable is not properly connected to the switch.
l The power module in the switch has failed.
l The external power supply for the switch is faulty.
Troubleshooting Procedure
1. Ensure that the power switch is on.
2. Ensure that the power cable is properly connected to the switch.
3. Check whether the external power supply is faulty.
Replace the external power supply with a new one. If the switch powers on, the original
external power supply is faulty.
4. Check whether the power module in the switch is faulty.
If it is a pluggable power module, replace it with another one. If the switch powers on,
the original power module is faulty.
If it is a built-in power module, contact technical support of Huawei or the equipment
supplier.
5. If the switch still cannot power on, the switch is faulty. Contact technical support of
Huawei or the equipment supplier.
12.2 Optical Module Faults
12.2.1 Optical Module Information Cannot Be Displayed
Fault Description
Services are running normally on a switch, but optical module information cannot be
displayed.
Possible Causes
l An optical module not certified by Huawei is used.
l The optical module is not installed properly.
l The system software running on the switch requires an upgrade.
Troubleshooting Procedure
NOTICE
Removing and installing optical modules, restarting the switch, or upgrading the software
version will affect services. Perform these operations only when necessary.
