Huawei S2700 - A Fan Module Is Malfunctioning

Troubleshooting Procedure
1. Remove the fan module from the chassis and check whether the fan blades are blocked
or whether they are heavily soiled with dust.
– If the fan blades are blocked, remove the obstacle.
– If the fan blades are heavily soiled with dust, use a brush to clean them.
2. If the problem persists, replace the fan module with another one of the same model. If
the new fan module works normally, the original fan module is faulty.
12.3.2 A Fan Module Is Malfunctioning
Fault Description
The display fan command output shows that the fan status is abnormal.
Possible Causes
l The fan module hardware is faulty.
l Fan blades are blocked or heavily soiled with dust.
Troubleshooting Procedure
1. Check whether the fan module is securely installed in the fan slot and whether the fan
blades are blocked or heavily soiled with dust. If any of the preceding conditions occurs,
rectify the fault according to Indicator of a Fan Module Is Steady Red or Blinking
Red.
2. If the fault persists, replace the fan module.
