NOTICE
l Power cables of the switch must be routed indoors or buried underground if they are led in
from the outside. Do not aerially route the power cables outdoors.
l Do not power on the switch until you finish installing the switch and connecting all cables.
l Power cables delivered with the switch are for use with this switch only.
NOTE
The AC power cable parameters vary in different countries or regions. The figures in this section are
only for reference.
For a desk-mounted DC switch, use 18 AWG (1 mm
2
) DC power cables with a maximum insulation
diameter of no more than 2.1 mm (0.08 in.). UL1007 DC power cables are recommended.
Tools and Accessories
l ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves
l Phillips screwdriver
l (Optional) AC terminal locking latch
Procedure
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. When wearing an ESD wrist strap, ensure that it is in
close contact with your wrist and grounded properly.
Step 2 Turn off the external power supply system for the switch.
Step 3 Turn off the power switch on the switch or power module.
NOTE
Skip this step if there is no power switch on the switch or power module.
Step 4 Connect a power cable to the switch or power module.
l To connect an AC power cable to a built-in AC power supply unit or AC power module,
perform the following steps (built-in AC power supply used as an example):
a. (Optional) Install the AC terminal locking latch.
An AC terminal locking latch is delivered only with a 150 W, 170 W, 600 W, 350
W, 580 W, or 1150 W power module, or an RPS1800.
b. Insert the AC power cable plug into the power socket on the switch or AC power
module.
