Do not decompose, transform, or damage batteries. Otherwise, battery short circuit,
electrolyte leakage, and even personal injury may occur.
Preventative Measures
When installing and maintaining batteries, pay attention to the following points:
Use dedicated insulated tools.
Keep the SmartLi loop disconnected during installation and maintenance.
Avoid skin contact with electrolyte overflow. Before installing or maintaining batteries,
wear goggles, rubber gloves, and protective clothing.
Tighten bolts with torque specified in the document. Loose connections will result in
excessive voltage drops or cause batteries to burn out when the current increases.
Protect your skin and eyes from electrolyte leakage. If your body comes in contact with
electrolyte leakage, wash with clean water immediately and visit a doctor.
Avoid ingestion of battery components.
Protect batteries from mechanical vibration, collision, punctures, and strong impact.
Otherwise, the batteries may catch fire.
Do not throw batteries in fire because this may cause the batteries to ignite.
Do not immerse batteries in water or expose them to rain.
Explosion may occur if a battery is replaced with an incorrect model.
Dispose of waste batteries in strict accordance with local laws and regulations.
Segregate the installation place, arrange dedicated personnel to protect the place, and
place high-voltage warning signs on equipment and separators.
Qualified fire extinguishing facilities must be available, including fire extinguishing
sands and powder fire extinguishers.
Short Circuit
Battery short circuits may cause personal injury. The high transient current generated by a
short circuit may release a surge of power and cause a fire.
To avoid battery short circuits, do not maintain batteries while they are in use.
Harmful Gas
Smoking and sparks near the SmartLi are prohibited.
A battery is an enclosed system and will not release any gases under normal operations.
If a battery is severely misused, for example, being burned or thunderstruck, the battery
may be damaged, resulting in electrolyte leakage. As electrolyte is of organic carbonate
nature, it may produce CO2, CO, and N2 after being burned.
