5.4.4.2 Removing the Server and Adjustable Guide Rails
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see 5.2 ESD Protection.
Step 2 Power
o the server. For details, see 5.4.2 Powering O the Server.
Step 3 Disconnect all power cables and signal cables from the server.
Step 4 Remove the server.
1. Loosen the captive screws on the server panel using a screwdriver. See (1) in
Figure 5-11.

2. Pull out the server along the guide rails away from the cabinet. See (2) in
Figure 5-11.
3. Place the removed server on an ESD platform.
Step 5 Loosen the M6 screw from the lowest square hole at the rear of a guide rail. See
(1) in Figure 5-12.
Step 6 Remove the two plugs from the middle square holes on both ends. See (2) in
Figure 5-12.
Step 7 Slightly lift the guide rail, retract it from the square holes, and take it out. See (3)
and (4) in Figure 5-12.
