9. Malfunctions and Messages / Conditions
Switch off the steam humidifier immediately if a fault occurs!
Faults are only to be remedied by qualified personnel following the pro-
per safety instructions.
The fault messages displayed depend on the humidifier type in
use; in the table below, “HE” denotes heater element steam
humidifiers and “ESH” denotes steam humidifiers. Some fault
messages are identical with both humidifier types.

Blow-Down
Fault
Unit shuts off au-
tomatically
• Blow-down pump has not been electrical-
ly activated
- Cable connections are faulty
- The relay on the main PCB is not oper-
ating
•
•
Check or replace cable connec-
tions
Measure voltage at the PCB ter-
minals against N or replace
PCB
• Defective blow-down pump • Replace blow-down pump.
• Solenoid valve does not close properly.
Water level in the cylinder sinks very
slowly even though blow-down pump
flushes out water.
• Check solenoid valve.
• Blow-down pump operates, but no water
is pumped out, i.e. the cylinder drain is
blocked.
• Thouroughly clean steam cylin-
der and base to prevent short-
term blockage from reoccurring
• Blow-down pump is blocked up with min-
eral deposits.
• Check blow-down pump, drain
assembly and cylinder for min-
eral deposits and clean.

Max.-Level Fault
Unit shuts off au-
tomatically.
• If the water level “max. level” is reached,
the pump switches on and drains the cyl-
inder until the water level lowers to “oper-
ation.” If the “max.-level” is reached five
times, “max.-level” is displayed.
• Air pressure in the duct is too high. Duct
air pressure enters the cylinder via the
steam hose. Water is forced into the
drain.
• Reduce air pressure or detach
vent pipes from the unit and
place higher
