  The Jandy Swimming Pool Pump might fail to start due to several reasons. It could be due to no power to the pump. Ensure the pump is properly connected to high voltage. Another cause might be improper low-voltage wiring. Check the low-voltage wiring between the pump and the controller and correct if necessary. The issue may also arise from an improper pump address setting. Make sure that pump dip switches 3 and 4 are set properly for the installation. Both should be OFF for use with Variable-Speed Controller or set to the proper address when connected to an AquaLink® RS controller, an AquaLink PDA, or an AquaLink Z4. Finally, a fault condition might exist. View the fault message on the controller and correct the fault before proceeding.

Loosen both unions and move the pump aside. Remove, clean, and reinstall both union o-rings. Reposition the pump next to the piping and secure the union nuts to the pump. With clean union o-rings, hand-tightening the unions should create a seal. If the unions still leak, gently tighten them using tongue-and-groove pliers, being careful not to overtighten.
