3 If the Modem Operation is set to Bridge, an additional Ethernet Mode selection is available.
– Ethernet Bridge Mode works like Figure 10.
– Ethernet Router Mode works like Figure 11, below. This mode enables the router between
the DSL interface and the Ethernet interface, meaning the SmartClass Triple Play Services
will work as the router for the devices connected through the Ethernet port.
In Ethernet Router mode, the Data Mode, is IPoE, PPPoE, VLAN, Multi-VLAN, or None. and
NAT is enabled, specify the network settings using the LAN config as described in “Specifying
LAN settings” on page 57.
4 Press Cancel to return to the previous menu.
The modem operation mode is specified.
Specifying DSL settings
The settings vary depending on whether testing on a single line or bonded.
Specifying DSL (single line) settings
To specify DSL test settings
1 From the ADSL/VDSL menu, select DSL.
The DSL Summary results menu appears.
Press the asterisk (*) to view the Setup menu.
2 Select xDSL Standard and then choose ADSL, VDSL, Auto, or Incremental. Auto will query
the DSLAM for the standard. Incremental will cycle through a period of broadcast sequences
to the DSLAM, going from VDSL to ADSL and then repeating.
3 If you specified ADSL as the DSL standard, do the following:
