Programming the VX6020 SWC Functions
Programming the VX6020 SWC functions to a vehicle are a relatively simple
matter. There are 16 SWC functions that can be programmed to a vehicle. Most
vehicles do not have 16 SWC functions, so not all the SWC keys will be
used/programmed.
Once the SWC A, SWC B and SWC Ground wires are connected to the vehicle,
programming the VX6020 SWC keys can be started. The first 11 basic SWC
functions are pre-named from the factory:
1. Volume +
2. Volume –
3. Mute
4. Seek / Track Up
5. Seek / Track Down
6. Source (SRC)
7. Preset Up
8. Preset Down
9. Band (Not “Mode”)
10. Bluetooth Send Call
11. Bluetooth End Call
Note: In some vehicles, both the SWC A and SWC B wires may not need to be
connected for proper operation. In addition, in some vehicles, only SWC A or
SWC B may be needed.
Each SWC function can also be “renamed / remapped” for another function, if
desired, by pressing the key number / name once while in the SWC menu.
Programming the SWC Key function
Verify that the SWC A, SWC B and SWC Ground wires are connected to the
vehicle.
1. If the 11 basic functions are not supported on the OE steering wheel, then
those functions must be set to “Undefined” in the SWC Menu first before
proceeding with programming. For example, if Preset Up / Preset Down
are not supported on the OE steering wheel, those functions must be set
to “Undefined”.
2. Verify that the OE SWC functions are correctly selected in the VX6020
SWC Menu per step 1 above.
3. Press Pair on the SWC Menu page in the bottom right-hand corner.
