For power feed redundancy, connect power source feed A to power supplies 0 and 1 and connect power
source feed B to power supplies 2 and 3. A single feed can provide power to all components in the
PTX1000.
CAUTION: Do not connect feed A and feed B to the same power supply input
terminal.
PTX1000 Field-Replaceable Units
Field-replaceable units (FRUs) are components that you can replace at your site. The PTX1000 FRUs are
hot-removable and hot-insertable—you can remove and replace them without powering off the PTX1000
or disrupting the routing function.
CAUTION: Replace a failed fan module with a new fan module within 30 seconds of
removal to prevent chassis overheating.
Table 5 on page 22 lists the FRUs for the PTX1000 and actions to take before removing them.
