CAUTION: Before device installation begins, a licensed electrician must attach a cable
lug to the grounding cables that you supply. See “Connecting the PTX1000 to Ground”
on page 81. A cable with an incorrectly attached lug can damage the PTX1000.
Before connecting the PTX1000 to earth ground, review the following information:
A protective earthing terminal bracket is required for connecting the PTX1000 to earth ground. This
two-holed bracket attaches on the side of the PTX1000 chassis through the mounting rail and provides
a protective earthing terminal for the device. The grounding points require two #10-32 UNF screws and
washers. The grounding points are spaced at 0.63 in. (16 mm).
The grounding lug required is a Panduit LCD6-14BH-L or equivalent (not provided). The grounding lug
accommodates 14–6 AWG (2–13.3 mm²) stranded wire.
The grounding cable that you provide for a PTX1000 must be the same size or heavier than the input
wire of each power supply. Minimum recommendations are 8 AWG (8.4 mm²) stranded wire, 60° C wire,
or as permitted by local code.
