I cannot erase all
the frames.
No photograph is
taken when the
shutter button is
pressed.
• The Mode dial has been
moved to another setting.
• Set the Mode dial to the
correct setting.
Problem Cause Remedy
The playback
image is too dark
even though I used
the flash.
• The subject is too far
away.
• Move closer to the
subject.
The playback
image is blurred.
• The lens is dirty. • Clean the lens.
I cannot format the
SmartMedia.
• The SmartMedia is write-
protected.
• Remove the write-
protection.
• The frame is protected.
• Remove the frame
protection.
Nothing happens
when I use the
camera buttons
and switches.
• Camera malfunction. • Use the [POWER] switch
to switch the camera on
again.
• Remove the battery, then
reinsert it and try again.
The flash will not
charge.
• No compatible
SmartMedia is loaded.

Suppressed Flash mode.
