5 Operation | 5.5 Instruments
▶ Settings can be changed using the corresponding keys on the control panel or on
foot control A. The intensity can be set exclusively with the foot control A. Mode,
spray, light on/off can be set with the foot control or the control buttons.
ð The current settings are saved and activated the next time the handpiece is taken
out.
▶ Check if the condition of the instrument inserts is acceptable.
CAUTION
Instrument inserts can be damaged from long-term use, or when dropped or bent.
They cannot be guaranteed to function properly.
Potential injury from insert breakage.
▶ Check the instrument inserts before each use.
▶ In the case of frequent use, replace the instrument inserts every 9 - 12 months.
▶ Before each use, apply approx. 10 N of pressure to instrument inserts as an addi-
tional safety precaution. (10 N corresponds to weight of 1 kg).

Note
The KaVo K5plus handpiece can be used without an additional controller on the
DSE Expert simulation unit (with preparation for laboratory motor).
