Firmware Updating Trouble
If you suspect your QuNeo’s firmware is not up to date:
1 Open up the QuNeo Editor
2 Go to the QuNeo Menu and select “About QuNeo”
3 The expected firmware version is (1.2.17). The expected bootloader version is
(1.3). The actual QuNeo firmware and bootloader versions should match these
numbers.
4 If the board version does not match the editor version use the “Update Firmware”
option in the file menu of the QuNeo Editor. Select this option and a prompt to
update will appear. Click ok to update firmware.
If, while updating your firmware, the update bar freezes, you likely just need to restart
the update. Try the following:
1. Unplug the QuNeo (it’s ok, you won’t hurt anything).
2. Close the firmware update progress bar using the red ‘X’ button (Win) or restart the
Editor (Mac).
3. Plug your QuNeo back in
4. The QuNeo Editor should prompt you to update your firmware again, click OK to start
the update again
5. This time the update should work — the Mode button will light up blue and should
start flashing if the firmware update has started
6. Wait for the update to finish and then you’re good to go
The QuNeo documentation now includes an extremely thorough document devoted
entirely to Firmware Troubleshooting. Locate the Documentation folder in the
QuNeo directory and open “QuNeo_Firmware_Troubleshooting.pdf”.
Connectivity Trouble
If QuNeo is plugged in via USB on your computer and your computer is not recognizing
QuNeo as a device (and you’ve already tried everything under the main Troubleshooting
Heading):
MIDI Expander mode might be enabled. There are a couple of cases where QuNeo can be
falsely put into MIDI Expander Mode. This can happen if MIDI Expander Detection mode is
enabled and QuNeo is connected to the computer before the computer is turned on or if
QuNeo is plugged in to a powered USB Hub before that hub is plugged into the computer.
To fix the problem try pressing the Mode button and the bottom-right down button
simultaneously. The LEDs should swipe from left to right to indicate MIDI Expander
Detection Mode is now disabled. For more information see the MIDI Expander Chapter.
