This reminder is provided to call the CAT V system
installer’s attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that
provides guidelines for pr oper gr ounding and ,
in
particular, specifi es that the cable ground shall be
connected to the grounding system or the building,
as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

symbol (crossed-out wheeled bin)
cannot be disposed as household
waste.
Old electrical and electronic
equipment and batteries should be
recycled at a facility capable of
handling these items and their
waste byproducts.

details in locating a
recycle facility
nearest to you.
Proper recycling and waste disposal
will help conserve resources whilst
preventing detrimental eff ects on
our health and the environment.
