Measuring AC or DC Current

2 Press to cycle between DC ( ), AC ( ), AC+DC
( ), or % scale ( or ) current measurements.
3 Open the circuit path to be tested. Probe the test points
and read the display.

NOTE
Reversing the leads will produce a negative reading, but will not damage
the multimeter.
CAUTION
For measuring AC current signals with a DC offset (U1272A only), refer
to the “Measuring AC and DC Signals (U1272A only)” on page 64.
For measuring DC current from a mixed signal in DC measurement
mode, ensure that the Filter is enabled (Refer to “Enabling and
disabling the Filter” on page 131).
NOTE
Press to cycle through the available dual display combinations. See
Appendix B, “Dual Display Combinations Using the Dual Key,” starting
on page 179 to learn more.
Press to enable the frequency test mode for voltage
measurements. See “Frequency Test Mode” on page 101 to learn more.
