2 Performance Verification for Analog Generator
28 Keysight U8903B Service Guide
8 Trigger AC voltage measurements on both the digital multimeters and record the
readings as V
DMM
in the “Test record for sine wave amplitude accuracy verification”
on page 100.
9 Compute the AC voltage error percentage for both measurement readings using the
following equation:
AC voltage error (%) = (V
DMM
– V
DUT
) / V
DUT
×
100
10 Repeat step 5 to step 9 for the rest of the V
DUT
to complete the verification of the
U8903B output channel to be tested.
11 Disable the output of U8903B.
12 Set both the U8903B output channel 1 and channel 2 to be tested to output an
amplitude of 1 V.
13 Set both the U8903B output channel 1 and channel 2 to be tested to output a
frequency of 1000 Hz (first frequency point in “Test record for flatness verification” on
page 101).
14 Set both the digital multimeters’ range to 1 V.
15 Enable the U8903B output channels.
16 Trigger AC voltage measurements on both the digital multimeters and record the
readings as V
REF
.
17 Set both the U8903B output channel 1 and channel 2 to be tested to output the
subsequent frequencies as given in “Test record for flatness verification” on page 101.
18 Trigger and record the AC voltage measurements on both the digital multimeters as
V
DMM
.
19 Compute the flatness using the following equation:
Flatness (dB) = 20
×
log
10
(V
DMM
/ V
REF
)
20 Repeat step 17 to step 19 for the rest of the frequencies to complete the verification of
the U8903B output channel to be tested.
21 Compare the recorded AC accuracy and flatness values to the specifications. If the test
fails, adjustment will need to be carried out accordingly.
