The KICstart Software
Minimum PC Requirements
• 300 MHz processor / 64Mb RAM

• 1Gb available storage (for Product history records)
• SVGA video 800x600 resolution, 8-bit color
(1024 x 768, 16-bit or better recommended)
• 1 available USB port

• Operating system: Microsoft® Windows® 2000, XP

When the KICstart software is running on the same computer as the oven controller, and/or when additional
KICstart options are installed, a faster CPU and more RAM may be required.

A USB to Serial adapter is used to connect the KICstart for profiling.

Languages
The KICstart software supports the following languages:
English
German
Spanish
Japanese
Simplified Chinese
Traditional Chinese
Some of the supported languages can only be used with their respective operating systems:
English, German, and Spanish can be run on any of the supported Windows operating systems.
To run KICstart in Japanese, the operating system must be Windows-Japanese version. To run KICstart in
Simplified or Traditional Chinese, the operating system must be Windows-Chinese version. Japanese,
Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese cannot be used with English versions of Windows operating
systems.
Installing the software
Prior to the installation of the KICstart software, you should shutdown all other applications that are
currently running on the computer as a precaution against software conflicts. This is a sound practice
whenever you install any software package.
If you plan to use a Serial-USB adapter, install the hardware and software prior to installing KICstart.
To install the software, perform the following steps:
♦ Insert the CD into CDROM drive.
♦ The installation should start automatically.
♦ Follow the instructions for the installation program as the screens are displayed.
