2. If YES, then, is the bottom
displayed in red?
1. Select an appropriate depth
range in which the bottom is
displayed.
2. Adjust the GAIN control to obtain
the red sea bottom.
If the above actions are not
the answer, refer to Para 3.4
“Setting the video threshold” to
obtain proper depth indication.
No water temperature
display shown.
1. Is the water temperature unit (

F) selected?
2. Is the temperature/speed sensor
type ST-80-1/90-1/100-1
connected to the receptacle J4
(TEMP) located at the rear panel?
3. Check if INT or EXT is properly
selected for the temperature data
input.
1. Select a desired temperature
unit.
2. Connect an appropriate sensor
type to CVS-841/851.
3. Select the suitable setting.

1. Is the L/L or LOP coordinate
selected in the Display/Present
Position menu?
2. Is the necessary NMEA 0183 Nav
data (GGA, GLL, GTD, RMC)
supplied via the receptacle J5
(SER DATA) at the rear panel?
1. Select the suited coordinate.
2. Connect a Navigator unit that
supplies NMEA 0183 format
with suitable sentence (GGA,
GLL, GTD, RMC).

1. Is the speed unit (kmh, mph, kt)
selected in the Display/Boat
Speed menu?
2. Is a proper speed sensor
(ST-80-1/90-1/100-1) connected?
3. Is the necessary NMEA 0183 Nav
data (VTG) supplied via the
receptacle J5 at the rear panel?
1. Select a desired speed unit in
the menu.
2. Connect a suitable speed
sensor.
3. Connect a Navigator unit that
supplies NMEA 0183 format
with VTG sentence to J5.
No own ship’s bearing

1. Is the “Bearing ON” selected in the
Initial Menu Display/Bearing?
2. Is the necessary NMEA 0183 Nav
Data (VTG) supplied via the
receptacle J2 (SER DATA) at the
rear panel?
1. Select “Bearing ON” in
the menu.
2. Connect a Navigator unit that
supplies NMEA 0183 format
with VTG sentence to J5.
