12.4 MOVING MACHINE OFF
12.4.1 MOVING MACHINE FORWARD

Before operating the travel levers, check the direction of the
track frame. If the sprocket is at the front, the operation of the
travel levers is reversed.
When moving off, check that the area around the machine is
safe, and sound the horn before moving.
Clear all personnel from the machine and the area.
Clear all obstacles from the path of the machine.
If the lever is moved inside the deceleration range, engine
speed will rise suddenly. Operate the levers carefully.
Avoid abruptly operating the traveling and steering levers
with the fuel control lever fully open, as this will cause the
machine to move off suddenly.
Always set the travel speed selector switch to LO (low) when
high resistance to traveling causes the engine speed to drop
- for example, when climbing slopes or traveling over rough
ground.
1. Set swing lock switch @ to the ON (actuated) position and
confirm that swing lock monitor lamp @ lights up.

2. Turn fuel control dial @ towards the full speeed position to
increase the engine speed.

3. Set safety lock lever @ in the FREE position, fold the work
equipment, and raise it 40 - 50 cm (16 to 20 in) from the ground.
