Sending Faxes Via Class 1 or 2 Software

Choose the paper size being scanned so that the image will not be truncated.
Choose Letter, Legal or A4.
Contrast
Choose the contrast type in order to maximize the results of the scan process.
Choose Darken, Normal or Lighten. Color images should be scanned as
Normal or Light.
Halftone Check Box
Enable if halftone scanning is desired. Halftone may be used to enhance the
imaging when scanning picture data. It should not be used with text data. Using
halftone with picture data will result in a better image at the cost of much
greater scan processing time.

Button
Allows setting the COM port and the baud rate. Baud Rate defaults to 9600.
Experimenting with this setting will sometimes decrease scan processing time.
Place the document to be scanned face-down into the fax/scan feeder slot on
the Konica Fax 9825. This slot is located under the fold-down button cover.
The scan is started from the PC, not by pressing any buttons on the Konica Fax
9825. When ready, select the Scan option button in the Scanner Driver
Window to start the scan.
A small window will display the scanning progress and the document will start
feeding through the Konica Fax 9825. The progress will be indicated in the
small scan progress window. When the scan process finishes, the scan
progress window will disappear and the document will be ready for the PC
application being used.

Faxes Via Class 1 or 2 Software
This section describes using faxing software on the PC to send and receive
faxes via the Konica Fax 9825.
The Konica Fax 9825 contains a Class 1 or 2 fax modem, which is a particular
fax modem standard that many fax software packages support. Using a
compatible
Windows-
based fax software package will allow the sending of
faxes directly from the connected PC using the Konica Fax 9825 as the fax
modem. The software may also be set up to receive faxes on the PC instead
of allowing the Konica Fax 9825 to print them.
