16.5 Filling/bleeding the cooling system
Warning
Danger of poisoning Coolant is poisonous and a health hazard.
– Coolant must not come into contact with the skin, eyes, or clothing. If contact occurs with the eyes, rinse with water immedi-
ately and contact a physician. Immediately clean contaminated areas on the skin with soap and water. If fuel is swallowed, con-
tact a physician immediately. Change clothing that is contaminated with coolant. Keep coolant out of reach of children.

Remove radiator cap

Remove bleeder screw

– Tilt the vehicle slightly to the right.
– Pour in coolant until it emerges without bubbles at the vent hole, and then mount and
tighten bleeder screw
immediately.

Completely fill the radiator with coolant. Mount radiator cap

– Rest the vehicle on the side stand.
– Check the coolant level in the compensating tank. ( p. 150)
