3.7 Interface Signals
Terminal Block Connections
There are 3 analog outputs (HSU,
Position and Auxiliary) available
through the terminal block connection.
Each analog output signal is
referenced to Ground.
ANALOG OUTPUTS
The HSU output signal (0-10V)
indicates the standoff distance of the
tip and the part.
In general, two types of output curves
are available; linear and optimized.
Additional curves may be added
according to customer requirements.
The Position Output signal (0-10V)
indicates the current position of the
lens.
~ It is scaled linearly from 0 to 15mm.
The Auxiliary Output signal (0-10V) is
set using FiberMINI
®
Monitor.
~ You can scale it linearly from 0 to
15mm or 100°C depending on the
assigned function.
There is one analog input (Lens In)
available through the terminal block
connection.
ANALOG INPUT
The Lens In signal (0-10V) is used to
set the target position of the lens.
There are 3 digital outputs (Ready,
Touch and In Pos) available through
the terminal block connection.
Each output is a solid-state relay
connected to Out Com when
active.
DIGITAL OUTPUTS
The Ready output indicates the unit
is operating with no fault conditions.
Connect the Ready signal directly to
the laser-enable or interlock circuit
to insure that the laser beam turns
off immediately after the Ready
signal deactivates.
Also, automatic motion of the
machine must stop, when the
Ready signal deactives.
The Touch output indicates that the
tip has contacted the part or
another conductive surface.
The In Position output indicates that
the lens has reached the target
position.
~ Alternately, it can be configured
as a home switch activating when
the target position is within a
specified range.
NOTE: This output is NOT an
indication of the tip standoff
distance.
The Output Common allows users
to configure the outputs for either
sourcing or sinking.
~ Connect Out Com to 24 V DC for
sourcing outputs
~ Connect Out Com to 0 V DC for
sinking outputs.
