9 MAINTENANCE
Correct machine servicing is necessary with a view to
reliable and safe working.
9.1
Maintenance after operations
- Remove all seed remainders from the hopper.
• Place a bucket underneath the metering device.
• Untighten the butterfly nut A (fig. 40) slightly.
- Remove the seeds from the cell wheel.
• Uncouple the air supply hose B.
• Place a bucket underneath the opening.
• Turn the sprocket wheel round until all seeds have
dropped from the cells.
- Clean the machine thoroughly.
- Grease the machine with a rust preventive.
9.2
Lubrication
- PTO shaft to be greased every 8 working hours at the grease
nipples on the cross assemblies, freewheel clutch and
protection tubes (fig. 41).
- Profile tubes of the PTO shaft to be greased every 8
working hours.
- If the machine is used in frosty weather, the PTO guard
tubes should be greased in order to avoid freezing.
- Grease the pivot points of the marker arms every 40
working hours (fig. 42).
