Thesystemboardplatformmanagementsubsystemisbasedontheintegrated
TMMfeatures.TheTMMisamanagementchipthatisintegratedonthesystem
boardofyourserver.WiththeTMM,nomatterwhatconditiontheserver
operatingsystemisinandnomatteriftheserverisonoroff,aslongasthe
serverisconnectedtonetworkandanacpowersource,theinteractionwiththe
TMM-controlledserverscanbeachievedthroughsystemnetwork.Theusercan
obtaintheserverhardwarehealthinformationandsystemeventlog(SEL),andis
abletoconducttheoperationsincludingturningonorofftheserver,restarting
theserver,andsoon.Thispartofservermanagementisindependentofthe
operatingsystemandiscalledout-of-bandmanagement.
Thesystemboardplatformmanagementsubsystemconsistsoftheintegrated
TMM,communicationbuses,sensors,theBIOS,andservermanagement
firmware.Thesubsystemisresponsibleforerrorreporting,systempowercontrol,
thermalmonitoring,systemfancontrol,andothermanagementfeatures.The
TMMprovidessystemmanagementandmonitoringfeaturesbasedontheIPMI
