16. Insert six 3/8” ange bolts (Fig.8A) through each set of
aligned I-beam mounting brackets, four at the I-beam end
and two on the opposite end.
17. Secure the bolts with 3/8” ange nuts (Fig.8B).
Torque nuts to 23 ft-lbs.
18. Connect the 3-pin Deutsch Connector to the C-Jack
motor wires (Fig.8C) and run the harnesses to the
compartment where the controller will be mounted.
See “Installing the Controller” section.
NOTE: LCI recommends zip-tying the harnesses tight
against the front jack motors to prevent damage
to the harnesses.
Rear Mounting Bracket and 5K Short Jack
Installation
1. Measure from the center of the rear axle hanger (Fig.9A)
back 12” maximum distance on the frame and mark the
location on the web of the I-beam (Fig.9B).
2. Measure the center location of the mounting bracket
(Fig.10A). Place the mounting bracket center aligned to the
previously made 12” mark on the frame from step 1.
The lip of the mounting bracket will rest on the I-beam
ange (Fig.10B).
3. Clamp or hold the bracket in place.
4. Using a
7/16” drill bit, drill at the four pre-drilled hole
locations (Fig.10C) above the lip of the bracket (Fig.10B)
using the pre-drilled holes in the bracket as a template,
through the web of the I-beam.
5. At the four hole locations, bolt the mounting bracket
(Fig.11A) to the I-beam (Fig.11B) using 3/8” - 16 x 1 ½” bolts
(Fig.11C), 3/8” washers (Fig.11D and Fig.12A) on both sides of
the I-beam and 3/8” - 16 nuts (Fig.12B).
6. Torque bolts to 90 ft-lbs.
