Confirmation
Enable this option if a Reject Confirmation Photo-eye is fitted to your system. This photo-eye
is fitted across the entrance to the reject bin to confirm that the contaminated product has
entered the bin. A system fault is generated if a confirmation signal is not received by the
detector.
Tap in the option check box to enable or disable it.
Confirmation delay
This field is only displayed when the Confirmation option is enabled and a Product
Registration Photo-eye is fitted and enabled in the Conveyor Setup screen. It is used to set a
time to compensate for the actuation time, Reject dwell time, of the reject device to allow the
Confirmation window time to be set as accurately as possible.
Tap in the field to display a pop-up numeric keypad and enter the time required.
Confirmation window
This field is only displayed when the Confirmation option is enabled. If a reject confirmation
signal for the rejected product is not detected within the time set, a system fault is generated.
If a Product Registration Photo-eye is not fitted, the timing is taken from when the reject
device is activated.
Tap in the field to display a pop-up numeric keypad and enter the time required.
Confirmation timeout
This field is only displayed when the Confirmation option has been enabled and a Product
Registration Photo-eye is fitted and enabled in the Conveyor Setup screen. If the Reject
Confirmation Photo-eye is blocked for the set period of time, a system fault is generated.
Tap in the field to display a pop-up numeric keypad and enter the time required.
As for setting up reject timings, confirmation setup is best done through practical testing using
representative contaminated product. The objective is to set the timing to reliably confirm a
reject in the shortest time possible so that in the event of a non-confirmation, a system fault is
generated quickly to contain the contaminated product within the length of the detector
conveyor.
Generally speaking the Confirmation delay value can be initially set to a nominal 0.005 -
0.010s. Then adjust the Confirmation window timing only. A longer Confirmation delay time
should only be needed if the confirmation system is situated a long distance from the reject
device.
For failsafe operation, the fault relay should be wired into the conveyor drive and/or reject
circuitry to ensure that no contaminated product can pass in the event of a reject or bin full
failure.
Pack check
Select this option to ensure that packs that are counted onto the detector conveyor are
counted off. This option also helps to ensure that packs that should have been rejected, but
did not enter the reject bin, do not leave the detector conveyor by stopping it. This option only
appears if a Product Registration Photo-eye has been fitted and enabled in the Conveyor
Setup screen and the Pack Check Photo eye has been installed.
Tap in the option check box to enable or disable it.
