BAG ORIENTATION
The bag orientation must be always in North - South direction, procure an equal isolation in both sides. Our
country is in a very austral position of the southern hemisphere, for that reason, the sun describes its way
from East to West always by the North quadrant.
Hence , if we set the bags in the East - West direction, the North face will be exposed over the whole day
to the solar radiation, being able to produce over stretching and even breaking of the plastic.
PLASTIC STRETCH
The healthy and dry grains, inside the plastics bags, tend to behave like a liquid for its high ow tendency
upon being introduced inside the bag.
Upon not joint or cling amont themselvs, the grain tend to scatter toward the sides submitting to the plastic
to bigger efforts to contain them and causing the characteristic deformation of the bags that adopt a “at-
tened” shape.
At higher hectolitric weight, better grain cleanliness and less moisture content, means higher tendency to
ow, and wherein, higher stretching and deformation of the bag for the same braking level of the bagger.
For the exposed reasons, it is not advisible to exceed the stretching levels recommended by the bagt
manufaturers. As general norm, it can be considered as a maximum stretching value a 10% of the plastic
without stretc.
STORAGE MOISTURE
As general norm, the moisture conditions that must be respected to storage grains inside plastic bags are
the same than required to storage in conventional bins (storage conditions).
The storage with higher humidity levels will be the cause of grain quantity or commercial quality loses (pro-
tein quality loses, germinative power loses, hectolitric weight loses, etc), increasing the risk while increasing
the storage time.
