Before Driving
WARNING!
•
Do not transport too heavy items in the
luggage compartments. Heavy loads
affect vehicle handling: distribute
equally the weight between the two
compartments and accommodate
heavier luggage in the front
compartments.
•
If the luggage is hosted free in the
passenger compartment, It can move
while driving and interfere with driving
maneuvers. This can cause serious
accidents. Only store luggage in
dedicated compartments.
CAUTION!
In particular conditions of use, high
temperatures could be reached. Avoid
storing objects that could be damaged.
NOTE:
The RHT automatic movement is
disabled when the rear luggage
compartment is open.
Access the Engine
Compartment (for MC20) or
Rear Luggage Compartment
(for MC20 Cielo)
To access the engine (not for MC20
Cielo) and rear luggage compartment is
necessary to unlock and then lift the rear
hood (or liftgate).
Opening the Rear Hood (or Liftgate)
The rear hood (or liftgate) can be opened
from outside the vehicle by pressing the
button on the key fob twice within
five seconds.
The rear hood (or liftgate) can be
unlocked from inside the vehicle by
pressing the release button located
under the drive lower side of the
dashboard, next to the EPB lever.
NOTE:
The transmission must be in P (Park)
mode before the release button can
operate.
WARNING!
After prolonged use of the vehicle, the
rear hood (or liftgate) may reach high
temperatures. Wait until the rear hood
(or liftgate) is cooled sufficiently or use
adequate protection before lifting to
avoid burns.
Move to the outside and lift the rear
hood (or liftgate) completely, gripping it
in the central part.
The rear hood (or liftgate) is held open by
two shock absorbers.
