5.5.8.3 Assembly of the Crankshaft
z The crankshaft weighs approx. 140 kg(308 lbs). Handling it inappropriately may
cause injury. Attach the crankshaft in an appropriate manner with at least two
other people.
1. Attach the coupling rod (a) (or an M20 bolt with a
sufficient length) into the screw hole at the end of
the crankshaft at the main bearing head side.
2. Lift the crankshaft by holding the coupling rod (a)
(or the M20 bolt with a sufficient length) that is
attached in Step 1. Also lay the V shaped block of
wood next to the casing for lowering the
crankshaft (c) Lift the crankshaft balance weight
into the position of the main bearing head on the
crankcase.
3. Lower the crankshaft so that the crankshaft
balance weight (b) at the seal cover side is
properly placed onto the main bearing head on the
crankcase.
