5.2.5 Draining the Solvent Purification Columns to the Solvent reservoir
(Manual Systems only)
!
Note!
This process is used for the initial start up of a dispense line, if the
system’s solvent purification columns have not been previously used, and
do not contain any solvents.
Alternatively, this process is to drain solvents from the solvent purification
columns into the solvent reservoirs. This process has to be applied before
a solvent purification column can be exchanged. In this case, the Operator
must ensure that the solvent reservoir has sufficient free capacity for the
drained solvent (~10liters).
1
For this process the PTFE-purge hose will be used. This
hose is located on the left side wall of the system and
connected to the working gas. It is equipped with an
adapter and a manual valve.
Make sure that all valves on the front side and inside
the Safety Cabinet are closed.
Unclip the purge hose from its bracket on the side of
the solvent purification system.
Connect the purge hose to the external outlet of the
solvent line.
2
Inside the safety cabinet:
Turn the gas valve (V 1)) to position V E N T.
Wait until any over pressure is relieved.
3
Inside the safety cabinet:
Turn the solvent valve (V 2)) to position O P E N.
