PROPELLER INSTALLATION

WARNING
Rotating propellers can cause serious injury or death. Never operate the boat
out of the water with a propeller installed. Before installing or removing a
propeller, place the outboard in neutral and activate the lanyard stop switch
to prevent the outboard from starting.
1.
Remove the battery from the outboard. Refer to Battery Removal.
2. Remote control models‑verify the remote control is in neutral.
IMPORTANT:To prevent the propeller hub from corroding and seizing to
the propeller shaft (especially in saltwater), always apply a coat of the
recommended lubricant to the non threaded areas of the propeller shaft at
the recommended maintenance intervals.
Do not apply Extreme Grease or 2‑4‑C with PTFE to the threads of the
propeller shaft.
3. Apply Extreme Grease or 2‑4‑C with PTFE to the non threaded area of
the propeller shaft.

4. Install the propeller sheer pin, propeller, and the propeller nut onto the
shaft.
IMPORTANT:The propeller is sharp.
5. Prevent the propeller from moving with the appropriate tools.
6. Tighten the propeller nut to specified torque.
