•Y ourcariscontrolledbyelectroniccontrolsystems.
Whenstartingtheengine,pleasemakesure
therearenoelectronicdevicesthatcancreate
electromagneticinterferencenearthevehicle.This
maycauseissueswiththeelectroniccontrolsystems
onthevehicle.

1Switchoffallunnecessaryelectricalequipment
(includingtheairconditioning);
2Applytheparkingbrake(referto"BrakeSystem"of
thissection);
3Forvehicleswithautomatictransmission,makesure
theshiftleverisinPorNpositionandpressthe
brakepedal;
Note:Whentheshiftleverisinanyotherposition,
theenginecannotbestarted.
4Formanualtransmissionvehicle,ensureneutralis
selectedwhentheclutchpedalisfullypressed;
5PresstheSTART/STOPbuttonontheinstrument
panel,andreleasethebuttonaftertheenginebegins
tostart.
